I happened to find the topic named "Is Movable Type5 dead?", when I was rambling in the MovableType.forum.
Of course Movable Type5 is not dead, still alive.
It is developed by SixApart's members day by day, and the evlolution is progressing now.
I can understand though, that some Movable Type users feel in that way, because the core team of Movable Type is now in Japanese SixApart branch, and the information and documentation is made in Japanese first.
As I wrote on the topic, MT5 has some strong features.
One of those is the enhancement of custom field functions.
In MT5, we can make all kinds of custom fields to MT's data objects - not only entries, webpages, but also categories, templates, comments, and other objects.
Also we can allows websites' visitors to enter their own comments and various kind of data.
With MT5, we can develop all kinds of web services - like multi-search-database system, estate-search system, form mail system, event application system, and so on.
I have used a bunch of CMS software, and MT5 now has a strong functions as forceful as other CMS systems.
What the important of MT5, is now a n availability of technical information from Japan.
It seems that the information of MT5 is written in Japanese at first, then those would be translated in English.
I think, what MT users in the world want, is "speed" and "avilability" of MT5's information.
All of Movable Type users need more information about Movable Type 5 in English.
So I'd like to expect that SA members would apply useful technical announcement and documentation to the world more rapidly.
I'd like to talk about these things, and I will personally introduce about Mobavle Type information little by little, as far as I can.
