I have been wondering why Movable Type couldn't set an unpublish time.
WordPress can do it. MODx can do it. And also other cms and blog software can do it...
Now, you can do it with Movable Type - only if you use this terrific plugin, "Period".
http://tec.toi-planning.net/en/mt/period
"Period" is developed by Taku, an owner of ToI planning. He provides the plugin on his blog "ToI Information".
You can download the latest version from Google code repository.
When you download and unzip the plugin file, you have to rename the folder name because it is given a version number.Be careful. You can rename the folder name before uploading, or after uploading.
When you log-in to your Movable Type, the system will do an upgrade process. Of course, go for it.
If an upgrading process has ended successfully, you can make a configuration with each blog's system setting screen.
After setting configuration, your edit-entry screen would be modified automatically.
You can set unpublish time and date to your entries.
You can use this plugin both a static publishing and a dynamic publishing.
If you set a "period end", an entry will be unpublished after the setting time.
Attention:
You have to set your cron program correctly to use this plugin. Please see the Six Apart's reference page for more detail.
Also "period_start" form is not used in setting a publish time. It is only used for picking up "published time data" as a "character data". IF you wanna do a scheduled publishing, you have to use MT's default function.
Taku said it is provided under the "new BSD License" and you can use it for personal use and commercial use.
